Bluestronica Funk, is the latest compilation in the ongoing Bluestronica series.

The compilation features four artists from different corners of the Black & Tan Records catalogue: ElectroBluesSociety, Boo Boo Davis, miXendorp and BLu ACiD.

The Bluestronica project was created as a way of bringing together existing catalogue material that explores the connection between blues and electronic music. Rather than being tied to one particular sound, the series looks at the many ways in which blues can work with modern production, electronic beats and contemporary grooves.

With Bluestronica Funk, the emphasis shifts towards rhythm, groove and funk.

There are blues vocals, electric guitars and familiar blues elements, but they are placed alongside electronic production, programmed beats and deeper grooves. The result is a compilation that moves between blues, funk and electronic music without trying to fit neatly into one genre.

For Black & Tan Records, Bluestronica is also a different way of looking at a catalogue that has developed over many years. Tracks from different artists and different periods can find a new context when brought together around a common musical idea.

Bluestronica Funk continues that approach and is released September 27, 2026.
