Born in 1959 and started playing music (guitar) when I was 14. First acoustic blues / jazz / skilffle and later on electric blues and jazz. Started booking my own bands and others in 1988 and founded Crossroads blues agency. Since 1993 my main focus was booking European tours for USA blues / roots artists. In 1997 I founded my own record label (Black and Tan Records) combining the tours and releases of the same artists. So far I released 43 CD’s, 1 LP, I DVD plus a lot ‘digital only’ music.

Over the years I worked with all these great artists: Arthur Adams, Arthur Williams, Big Boy Henry, Billy Flynn, Bob Stroger, Bobby Parker, Boo Boo Davis, Boyd Small, Burton Gaar, Byther Smith, Chicago Bob Nelson, Chris Millar, Clara McDaniel, Clarence Walker, Clifford Curry, Dave MacKenzie, Deitra Farr, Derek O’Brien, Doug MacLeod, Earl Gaines, Earl Poole Ball, Eddie Stout, Elliott Chavers, Elvin Bishop, Ernie Durawa, Ernie Payne, Erskine Oglesby, Frank Frost, Frankie Lee, Fred James, George Rains, Grady Gaines, Harrison Kennedy, Hosea Leavy, James Wheeler, Jody Williams, Johnnie Bassett, Johnny Jones, King Brothers, King Alex & the Untouchables, King Ernest, Larry Garner, Lee Shot Williams, Levi Williams, Lightnin’ Wells, Li’l Brian & the Zydeco Travelers, Little Arthur Duncan, Little Hatch & the Houserockers, Little Smokey Smothers, Long John Hunter, Lou Ann Barton, Matthew Robinson, Michael Burks, Mississippi Heat, Percy Strother, Preston Shannon, Ray Sharpe, RJ Mischo, RJ Spangler, Rockin’ Johnny Burgin, Roscoe Chenier, Roscoe Shelton, Roy Roberts, Sam Carr, Sista Monica, Smokey Wilson, Soul Drivers, Speedy Sparks, Studebaker John & the Hawks, Sunpie & the Louisiana Sunspots, Tail Dragger, Teddy Morgan, Teresa James, Thornetta Davis, Zora Young.

I also played guitar and recorded with several of them (Percy Strother, Smokey Wilson , Byther Smith, Burton Gaar, Roy Roberts, Larry Garner, Boo Boo Davis, Erskine Oglesby, Jody Williams, Roscoe Chenier, Clara McDaniel, Billy Jones, Hosea Leavy). With Boo Boo Davis I recorded 10 CD’s and since 1998 more then 1000 live shows at almost all big European blues & jazz stages (among others at Montreux Jazz Festival, Northsea Jazz Festival, Jazz a Juan and Peer Bluesfestival).

My latest projects are:

ElectroBluesSociety
A duo project together with Jasper Mortier; we both have a broad musical taste and an open mind. Together we are mixing the old with the new; combining 30+ years of live stage experience (on the European blues/roots stages) with modern technologies (loops, samples), video projection and other musical styles. Our musical input ranges from Alan Lomax to Roxy Music and from Led Zeppelin to techno. On stage you will find computers, a double bass, foot pedals, vintage amps, midi controllers, guitars, an old drumkit, a beamer and lots of cables. All of this handled by the two of us.

miXendorp – bluesbeat DJ (thank God not all dutch DJ’s play EDM !!)
Expect no ‚music for the millions’ but an original and eclectic mix of blues, jazz, world, funk, techno and all kind of other great music with a beat. BLUES always had a strong BEAT and was intended to get people to dance. The blues used to be party music; now it can be played again at the hippest modern parties, festival and clubs ..…. and still feel down home. If there is a possibillity I also like to add some live authentic blues guitar and video to the music.

Blu AciD
together with fellow musician / producer Mischa den Haring I joined forces in this new production unit. In February 2014 we released our first tracks and April 2014 our first album production: a new BOO BOO DAVIS release (What Kind Of Shit Is This?) After this succesful project we did several other projects and these tracks will be released individually on BLu ACiD Records, a subsidiary label of Black and Tan. We try to preserve the power and originality of american roots music but at the same time not excluding influences from any other musical styles nor any technology that is available.

I have a deep love for American roots music and with all my musical activities my goal always has been KEEPING LIVING MUSIC ALIVE.
